On Monday, February 8th the New
Wave Swim Club Board of Directors will be hosting an open parent
meeting at 6 pm in the UMass Lowell gym (take the stairs up to the
bleachers just beyond the pool). As we
enter championships, and wind down the Short Course season, we
wanted to offer some time to reflect on the season, the workings of
the club and answer any questions you might have. Here’s a sampling of the topics we could
cover, but will let your interest drive the agenda:
-USA
Swimming: what’s cool about being
part of this organization?
-
Coaching philosophy: what
is the motivation behind the training workouts?
-
Meet entries: how do the
events get chosen for swimmers?
-
Long Course: what is it,
and how is it different than Short Course?
-
Money matters: how do I
know my tuition money is being wisely spent, and why do I keep
getting charged every month for entry fees?
-
Fundraising: why are
there so many fundraisers?
-
Volunteering: after
paying tuition and entry fees, you still want me to donate my time?
-
Meet hosting: what goes
into running a meet like the Nor’Easter?
-
Website: what can it do
for me that I might not know?
Refreshments will be provided! We hope to see you there.
